So I’m certified in Business & Supply Chain Management. What does that mean?
Before this program, I hadn’t fully grasped the critical role supply chain management plays in everything—from the toothbrush you use in the morning to the device you're reading this on. However, after in-depth training with Professor John Impellizzeri, (Rutgers Business School) and industry executive mentors including Jeffrey Hermann, Manish Airen, and Hussan Peavey, I developed a deep appreciation for the field’s impact on global industries.
Beyond the technical aspects, I also honed essential soft skills, including networking and public speaking.
Key Contributions & Presentations
🏙️ Newark Urban Agriculture Hackathon
Led my team’s discussion at the hackathon hosted by Kevin Lyons, tackling food insecurity in Newark through an inclusive and sustainable supply chain solution.
Our approach focused on repurposing abandoned buildings into urban farming hubs that integrated hydroponics, vertical farming, poultry production, and solar-powered filtration systems. Inspired by AeroFarms in Newark, we designed a B2B and B2C make-to-stock system, connecting urban farms directly to consumers via an underground marketplace.
🚛 Diesel vs. Sustainable Trucking Solutions for Hermann Trucks
Presented a case study for Hermann Trucks on fuel efficiency in logistics, comparing Diesel, CNG, and electric battery-powered trucks for supply chain operations.
While I advocate for sustainable tech, I was assigned Diesel and had to objectively assess its cost-benefit trade-offs—a valuable exercise in understanding real-world business decision-making.
This experience at Rutgers Business School provided an invaluable deep dive into supply chain strategies, sustainability, and business innovation. Check out one of my presentations on LinkedIn!
